Jake Petterson go to West Java International Surfing Championship 2011

West Java 2011 International Surfing Championship is held again. 2nd Event organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture of West Java Province in cooperation with local government of Sukabumi Regency and Quick Silver was conducted in Cimaja Beach, Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi District.

Head of Tourism and Culture of West Java Herdiwan explain this activity is an event in years 2 after 2010 successfully held for the first time. This event than as a championship event for lovers of local surfing, but also to introduce tourism potential of sport (Sport Tourism) Cimaja Beach, Pelabuhan Ratu, Kab. Sukabumi to foreign tourists.
"Cimaja Beach has a long fascination with the beach about 750 meters and a height of waves one to two meters so is suitable for surfing," said Herdiwan.


He said during the week from 12 until June 18, 2011 events held world-class competence Surfing plus a variety of entertainment attractions and beach-themed exhibitions and Surfing.


"Competence to be held this Surfing is Surfing Premium Competence Stars 6 (the highest ranking event) in Cote Cimaja as part of the Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) and Asian Tours Surfing Championship Surfer followed by National and International," he explained.


Surfing Herdiwan add diversity competence division between, for Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour (Open Men's, Women's Open and the Open Masters (above 35 years)). As for the Asian Surfing Championship Tour (International Field), namely categories, the Open Men's, Women's Open and the Long Board.



Four countries have ensured themselves participated in this event, namely Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Japan. Present and former professional surfer from Australia, Jake Petterson and local surfer Dede Suryana which is the only ASP World Tour surfer from Cimaja Sukabumi.
